All That You Need to Know About Speed Coding

Speed Coding is an intense, fast-paced competitive programming event designed to challenge participants' problem-solving and coding skills under time constraints. Following an ICPC-style format, the competition features six jumbled algorithmic problems to be solved within two hours. Teams will need to strategize, think on their feet, and collaborate efficiently to emerge victorious.

This offline event will be conducted on-site at IIIT Surat and will feature exciting challenges, helium balloon markers for solved problems, and thrilling competition for prizes worth Rs. 8,000.

Guidelines:

Eligibility:

• Open to all college students.

• Teams must consist of exactly three members.

• Registration deadline: April 9, 2025.

Competition Format:

• ICPC-style format with jumbled problems.

• Each team will receive 6 coding problems to solve within 2 hours.

• Only one laptop per team is allowed.

• Helium balloons will be placed at tables to mark problem-solving milestones.

• The first team to solve any problem will receive a special prize and goodies.

• The top 3 teams will be determined based on the number of correct solutions and total time taken.

Programming Languages Allowed:

• C, C++, Java, and Python.

• Code must follow standard input/output formats.

Evaluation Criteria:

• Submissions will be judged based on correctness and efficiency.

• Solutions must pass all test cases to be considered correct.

• In case of ties, teams with the least cumulative time will be ranked higher.

Code of Conduct:

• Use of the internet, books, or external help is strictly prohibited.

• Plagiarism or code sharing will result in immediate disqualification.

• Participants must uphold fair play and respect fellow competitors and organizers.

Prizes & Certificates:

• The first team to solve a problem will receive special prizes and goodies.

• The top 3 winners will receive prizes worth Rs. 8,000.

• All participants will receive certificates of participation.
