What is AI² Awards?

AI² Awards is a national AI filmmaking awards and competition in India, launched by TV9 Network, focused on recognising and showcasing AI-powered storytelling, AI-generated films, and AI-led creative content.

As artificial intelligence rapidly transforms filmmaking, content creation, and brand communication, AI² Awards aims to become India’s leading platform for AI short films, AI brand films, and experimental AI-driven narratives. The initiative brings together AI content creators, filmmakers, brands, agencies, and media leaders to spotlight work that represents the future of storytelling.

About the Competition:

AI² Awards is an AI film competition in India inviting creators to submit original films thatmeaningfully use artificial intelligence in filmmaking. AI may be used at any stage of the process, including:

• Concept development and scripting
• Visual generation and animation
• Sound design, music, or voice synthesis
• Editing, post-production, or workflow innovation

This competition is designed for creators working at the intersection of AI technology and
storytelling, across fiction, brand narratives, and experimental formats.

Categories:

Participants can submit films under the following categories:

• AI Brand Films
• AI Short Films

Eligibility for AI² Awards:

• Open to Indian citizens residing in India
• Participants must be 18 years or older
• Open to students, professionals, independent creators, and AI artists
• A team may have 1 to 4 members
• Teams can be cross-disciplinary, combining filmmaking, AI, design, and technology skills

Submission Guidelines:

• The official AI film brief can be downloaded from the website
• Films must be submitted via:
  • YouTube (unlisted link)
• Submissions must be original AI-powered works
• Any genre is permitted in the case of short films. Brand Films will have to follow the guidelines.
• AI usage must be clearly evident in the creative or technical process by atleast 70%.
• Only copyright-free or royalty-free music, visuals, and assets may be used
• Films must not contain:
  • Offensive, abusive, or hateful content
  • Graphic violence or disturbing imagery
  • Sexual or explicit material
  • Content offensive to individuals, communities, or organisations
  • Participants are responsible for all permissions, clearances, and rights

Film Format Specifications:

• AI Short Film Category
  • • Duration: 5 min
    • Resolution: 720p / 1080p or higher
    • Aspect Ratio: 16:9 format
  • AI Brand Film Category
    • Duration: Up to 1 minute
    • Resolution: 720p, 1080p, or 4K
    • Aspect Ratio: 16:9 format
      Films may be in any Indian or international language and must include English / Hindi subtitles unless dialogue-free.

AI Film Awards Usage Rights

By participating in AI² Awards, entrants grant TV9 Network and its partners the right to use submitted films, creator names, and related content for promotional, editorial, broadcast, and digital use. No additional royalties or compensation will be payable for such promotional usage.
