#ImagineThat Idea Pitch

You're just one step away from becoming a Semi-Finalist in Tata Imagination Challenge 2026! As part of a handpicked shortlist, this is when you finally present your IDEA and demonstrate your ability to think creatively and make a difference. Here’s how this round works:

  • Record a two-minute video using your phone or laptop. Share your idea, explain why it matters, and how it can drive change. Treat the camera as your audience and let your creativity shine.
  • Answer three brief questions about your idea in written form.
  • Join masterclasses and doubt-clearing sessions designed to help you ace this round.

Shortlisted candidates will receive detailed guidelines via email.

Virtual Masterclass (Non-Evaluative)

Congratulations to the shortlisted participants! Before moving into the Idea Defence Round, join an exclusive live virtual training session designed to help you hone your pitching skills, structure your presentation, and prepare for jury Q&A.

Idea Defence Round

The Top 100 shortlisted participants will present their concepts directly to the leadership panel in a live virtual presentation. Be ready to defend your solution, articulate your execution strategy, and answer direct questions about your idea’s real-world feasibility.

Idea Buddy Phase (Non-Evaluative)

If your idea is among the top pitches, welcome to the Finale! Before taking the stage, each Finalist will be paired with an Idea Buddy; an early-career leader from the Tata Group who will mentor you, refine your presentation, and prepare you to shine in front of senior leadership.

Popular Choice Awards (Non-Evaluative)

The jury’s assessment is important, but the people’s choice also counts! Upto Top 30 ideas are open for voting, and 3 ideas with the highest number of votes will win exciting prizes.

Finale (Participate and earn Certificate of Merit)

In this final round of Tata Imagination Challenge 2026, upto top 30 shortlisted participants present their idea to a panel of senior Tata leaders. Tell them what your idea is, why it matters, and most importantly, show them who you are and what drives you. This is your chance to make a lasting impression.

India’s biggest idea competition is back! Whether you’ve got a mini pitch scribbled in your notes app, a shower thought that has you doodling prototypes, or a spark that can launch change, this is where your idea belongs. #ImagineThat

We welcome ideas across all disciplines: engineering, design, technology, medicine, humanities, business, economics, and beyond. What matters most is the power of your idea to make a meaningful difference.

Eligibility Criteria

You’re eligible to participate if:

  • You’re a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate student in India
  • You’ve completed 10+2 schooling or equivalent
  • You’re enrolled in a regular course approved by AICTE, UGC, or a one-year management program from a recognized business school
  • Your academic year has officially begun

You’re not eligible to participate if:

  • Your classes haven’t started yet
  • You’re enrolled in distance or correspondence education
  • You’ve already graduated from college or completed your course
  • You’re not a full-time student
  • You’re on sabbatical from a non-Tata employer

Competition Structure:

Round 1 | Tata Quiz: Tata GK, Quant and more

20 questions in 20 minutes: A fast-paced multiple-choice quiz about the Tata Group that tests your aptitude. Other than correct answers, speed will earn you extra points in this round!

Round 2 | Game Plan: Logical Reasoning, Critical Reasoning, Quick Reflexes 

An exciting gamified challenge:  Set up your laptop or PC in a quiet spot with good lighting, and let the games begin! No need for hectic preparation, we've got you covered! Round 3 | #ImagineThat Idea Pitch:

You are now just ONE step away from claiming the National Semi-Finalist tag at Tata Imagination Challenge 2026! All you have to do is share an IDEA that can make a difference. This is how you crack the Idea Pitch round:

  • Grab your phone or laptop and record a two-minute video explaining your idea, why it’s important, and how it will drive change. Pretend the camera is your audience and let your creativity flow in words.
  • Answer three short questions on your idea (in written format):
    • WHAT: Describe your idea and why it is needed.
    • HOW: Explain how your idea will bring about change.
    • WHO: Describe the potential impact of the change and who it will benefit.
  • Detailed guidelines will be shared with shortlisted candidates over email.
  • Watch out for masterclasses and doubt-clearing sessions to help you ace this round.

Exclusive preparation workshop for the top 100 candidates ahead of the Idea Defence Round.

Round 4 | Idea Defence Round

The top 100 shortlisted candidates present their pitch live to a panel of judges, defending their strategy and execution plan.

Idea Buddy Phase (Non-Evaluative)

Top shortlisted candidates with the best ideas will advance to the Finale and get the chance to pitch their ideas to senior Tata leaders. But before that, each Finalist will be paired with an Idea Buddy from the Tata Group who will help you polish and perfect your idea presentation for the Finale.

Popular Choice Awards (Non-Evaluative)

The jury’s assessment is important, but the shortlisted ideas will be put to the people’s vote. Ideas with the maximum votes will win exciting prizes!

Round 5 | Finale:

Finalists, this is your moment to shine! Present your idea to a panel of senior Tata leaders in the final round of Tata Imagination Challenge 2026. Tell them about YOUR IDEA, show them WHO YOU ARE and WHAT YOUR CAREER ASPIRATIONS ARE.

During the Finale, Finalists will get a chance to meet Tata leaders and fellow Finalists during an all-expenses-paid, two-day immersive experience in Mumbai; receive Tata brand goodies; and visit Bombay House, the iconic and historic headquarters of the Tata Group!
