Education - 21: Stages and Timelines
National Innovation and Entrepreneurial Olympiad (NIEO)
National Innovation and Entrepreneurial Olympiad is a nationwide competitive event to discover the hidden entrepreneur and leader inside the students. Its aim is to initiate the student's journey into the entrepreneurial world through a comprehensive test conducted to test their aptitude. Registered candidates will take an Olympiad of 1 hour.
Ideation Express
Educational and interactive sessions for all the selected students to develop a greater grasp about entrepreneurship and to better understand the beginning of a startup journey. The round ends with a submission of one idea by each team.
Build Zone
Personal mentorship sessions and Workshops provided to students who qualify the first two rounds to develop their ability to recognize the problems around them and brainstorm on solutions thereby learning Innovation, Creative Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills. It also shall help students understand the intricacies of developing a product and presenting it. They will learn the different aspects of delivering value to a customer.
Product Showcase
The finale of E21 involves various stakeholders and startup founders as students present their final product in the campus of IIT Madras. It is a perfect opportunity for students to visit the IIT campus and display their entrepreneurial skills on a larger level. It will also help the students increase their network, as well as interact in person with the other teams, giving and taking ideas. The students will also have the opportunity to explore various other events which are part of E-Summit 2023.

We are curious and we ask a million questions. Somewhere along the line, this flame of curiosity is losing its spirit. It is imperative that we help the school students see the power of curiosity and innovation, the core skills which help them become awesome idea generators. Through E-21 we aim to inculcate 21st-century skills in school students from all backgrounds of India and help them apply entrepreneurship thinking to their daily life. We plan to bring creative ideas to life through proper mentorship and guidance.
During E-21, educators from different sectors will celebrate examples of successful 21st-century learning and illustrate how entrepreneurship empowers all of our learners to gain the skills they need. Through different workshops cum lecture series, educators will teach students about how to think creatively and make innovations happen.
Eligibility:
- Students from class 6th - 12th.
- Inter-school Teams are allowed.
- Interclass teams are allowed till they fall in the same category - Junior 6th - 8th, Senior 9th - 12th.

About Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras
- Located in the city of Chennai, the state capital of Tamil Nadu, Indian Institute of Technology Madras is one among the foremost institutes of national importance.
- Prof. Humayun Kabir, Union Minister for Scientific Research & Cultural Affairs, formally inaugurated IIT Madras in 1959.
- It is a residential institute with nearly 550 faculty, 8000 students and 1250 administrative & supporting staff and is a self-contained campus located in a beautiful campus spanning 630 acres.
