HUL TechTonic Season 6: Stages and Timelines
Virtual Case Study Reveal and Q&A Session
On August 9th, 2024, Unilever will conduct a virtual launch event for Techtonic Season 6 and release the case study. During the case launch, there will be a Q&A session where participating teams can clarify any doubts or queries, they may have.
Stage 1: Opening Round – Case Submission
Post the case reveal, each team will have to prepare their solutions and upload a 2-slider PPT solution: synopsis encompassing an analysis of the problem statement, proposed strategy, solution using relevant technologies on Unstop.
Stage 2: Semi Finals – ‘Pitch Perfect’ Video Submission
An initial round of shortlisting will be done based on the synopsis submitted and top shortlisted teams will be announced across all submissions received. These top shortlisted teams will have to sharpen their initial idea and make a video submission of maximum 03:00 mins and submit it via Unstop. Please stick to the time limit to avoid being disqualified.
Stage 3: Grand Finale
The top 5 teams will be invited to the Grand Finale at Unilever Campus Bangalore - to present final submissions to a panel consisting of revered names in the field of tech. Teams will be required to make a 15-minute presentation (10-minute presentation + 5-minute Q&A) and compete to be crowned as the National Winner of TechTonic Season 6!

This initiative is designed to empower students to craft innovative, tech-centric solutions for real-world business challenges. This season, we’re embracing the ethos of ‘Tech Done Right’ - a celebration of technology used wisely and effectively!
Participation Criteria:
TechTonic Season 6 is open to 1st Year-students pursuing full-time MBA programmes from the following B-Schools:
- Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad
- Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore
- Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta
- Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore
- Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode
- Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow
- Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Mumbai
- Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay
- SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai
- Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD)
- Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Delhi
- Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur
Rules:
- Students should register in teams of 3 members only.
- Only students from the same campus can form a team.
- Cross-specialization teams can participate.
- A student cannot be a part of more than one team.
- There is no restriction on the number of teams from an Institute.
- HUL reserves the right to check the validity of the registration information submitted at any point in time.
- Any deviation from the above will result in immediate disqualification of the entire team.
- Modification of team post registration will not be allowed.

Process:
The contest will pan across 6 weeks and will take place in the following phases:
Virtual Launch Event and Case Study Reveal:
- HUL will host the launch event for Techtonic Season 6 on August 9th, 2024 in virtual mode and release the case study. A Q&A session will also be conducted.
- Following the above, each team is to perform their research, and analysis and come up with a 2-slider presentation (case submission format will be enclosed with the case study).
Phase 1: Registration for Techtonic Case, Virtual Launch and Submission
- Registrations: Interested students can register themselves in teams of 3 through the Unstop website.
- Case Landing: A live project case will be put up on the Unstop website for all teams on 9th August 2024.
- Synopsis Submission: Teams will have to prepare their solutions and upload a 2-slider PPT solution encompassing an analysis of the problem statement, proposed strategy, solution using relevanttechnologies. More details would be available with the case document.
Phase 2: Case study – Perfect Pitch Submission:
- An initial round of shortlisting will be done based on the synopsis submitted and the top shortlisted teams will be announced across all submissions received.
- These top shortlisted teams will have to make their submission in a video format of 3 minutes and submit it via Unstop. Please stick to the time to avoid being disqualified.
- Teams with the best solutions and pitches will finally be selected as the National Finalist Teams, who will move to the Grand Finale.
Phase 3: Grand Finale & PPI:
- Top 5 teams will be invited to the Grand Finale at Unilever Campus Bangalore - to present final submissions to a panel of Senior Global Leaders from Unilever Operations.
- Teams will make a 20-minute presentation (15-minute presentation + 5-minute Q&A) and compete to be declared as the National Winner of TechTonic Season 6!
- National Finalists will be individually shortlisted for a PPI with Unilever, as part of the esteemed management trainee program, ULIP 2025.
- The interview schedule will be disclosed later, post the final presentations of TechTonic Season 6.
Prizes and Rewards:
- The winning team from the Grand Finale will be awarded with a cash prize of INR 3,75,000/-
- The Runners-Up team will be awarded with a cash prize of INR 1,50,000/-
- National Finalists will be shortlisted for Pre-Placement Interviews to join Unilever as ULIP in UniOps. Successful candidates will secure an internship with a stipend of INR 4.4 lakhs.

Recent Mergers and Acquisitions

Main Roles offered to Students: For management students, HUL hires them as Management Trainees and takes them through their 15-18 month training program known as the Unilever Future Leaders Program.
