NationBuilding Case Study Competition 2026: Stages and Timelines
Online Quiz
- The Team Leader is designated as the primary individual eligible to take the quiz between 4th to 6th January 2026.
- The quiz will be conducted in a Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format.
- Teams will be tested on their general awareness and knowledge of current events.
- Correct answers will earn the team 1 point each, and 1 point will be awarded based on the time taken to answer each question.
- Only 500 teams (100 per zone) will qualify for the next round! Qualified teams will be notified via email and on the website, with detailed instructions for the next stage.
Presentation Submission
- The teams will be required to submit their solution as a 5-slider PowerPoint presentation in PDF format by 11:59 PM, 18 January 2026. Only one submission per team will be allowed.
- Teams will be assessed by the judge panel based on several parameters: understanding of the problem statement, clarity and effectiveness of the solution, among others parameters.
- Out of 500 teams (100 per zone) per zone, 10 teams from each zone will advance to the next round! Qualified teams will be notified via email and on the website, with detailed instructions for the next stage.
Zonal Finals
- The qualifying teams will develop their solution on a given problem and submit a 10-slide PowerPoint presentation in PDF format by 11:59 PM, 27th January 2026. Only one submission per team will be allowed.
- Qualifying teams will present solutions for a given problem to a panel of judges online from 3-5 February 2026, with two zones scheduled per day. The finalised schedule will be shared with the qualified teams.
- Teams will be assessed by the judge panel based on several parameters: understanding of the problem statement, clarity and effectiveness of the solution, presentation and communication skills, and performance during the Q&A session, among other parameters.
- Winners and First Runner-ups from each Zonal Finals will qualify for the National Finals i.e. from over 50 teams, 2 teams from each zone will advance to the next round. Qualified teams will be notified via email and on the website, with detailed instructions for the next stage.
National Finals
- The qualifying teams will develop their solution on a given problem and submit a 12-slide PowerPoint presentation in PDF format by 11:59 PM, 17 February 2026. Only one submission per team will be allowed.
- The presentation for the National Finals will be held on 21 February 2026 in New Delhi in front of a distinguished judge panel.
- Teams will be assessed by the judge panel based on several parameters: understanding of the problem statement, clarity and effectiveness of the solution, presentation and communication skills, and performance during the Q&A session, among other parameters.
Note - Transportation and accommodation arrangements for the finalists will be taken care of by the NationBuilding team.
All that you need to know about NationBuilding Case Study Competition 2026
About the event:
NationBuilding is India’s largest undergraduate case study competition! It is an annual event designed to engage the youth in the nation-building process by working on some of the most pressing issues facing India. Participants will dive into a 2-month extravaganza across multiple online and offline rounds which will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges.
Why are we doing this? We believe that our youth can energize India’s future with their passion, creativity, and innovative ideas weaving a stronger, more progressive India, thread by thread.
The theme of the third edition of NationBuilding is "Preventive Healthcare". The problem statement is “Enabling India’s next generation towards an extra decade of healthy living through individual-driven action."
Eligibility:
- Participants should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in India. Participants are required to submit a scanned copy of their college ID upon request by the organizers at any round of the competition for verification purposes.
- Candidates who participated individually in the online Quiz Round need to form a team of two to participate in the further rounds. Please note that both members should be from the same college.
- Cross-specialization and cross-year teams are permitted.
- Each student is allowed to be a member of only one team.
Process:
1. Registration (1st December 2025 - 31st December 2025)
- Registration details can be completed by the team leader but team member's consent will be required to formulate the registration.
- The zones assigned during registration will be determined based on the location of the college and will remain unchanged throughout the entire competition, with no modifications allowed between rounds.
- The details for the State/Union Territories and zone mapping are given below:
Note: Any deviation from the aforementioned guidelines will result in the immediate disqualification of the team. Additionally, English will be the primary language for all communications and assessments.
2. Online Quiz (4th-6th January 2026)
- Registered teams will receive login details for the Online Quiz via their registered email address.
- The quiz will be conducted in a Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format.
- Teams will be tested on their general awareness and knowledge of current events.
- Correct answers will earn the team 1 point each, and 1 point will be awarded based on the time taken to answer each question.
- There will be no negative marking for incorrect attempt(s).
- The Team Leader is designated as the primary member who is eligible to take the quiz.
- The top-performing teams from each zone will qualify for the next stage.
- The result will be published on the website. Qualified teams will be notified via their registered email addresses.
- Qualified teams will receive detailed instructions about the requirements for the subsequent stage of the competition.
3. Presentation Submission (8th January 2026 - 18th January 2026)
- The qualifying teams will receive a problem statement on the theme of Preventive Healthcare.
- Candidates who participated individually in the online Quiz Round need to form a team of two to participate in the further rounds. Please note that both members should be from the same college
- The teams will be required to submit their solution as a short 5-slide PowerPoint presentation in PDF format.
- You will be required to add the following details on the Cover Page (first introductory slide) of your submission:
- Title of your presentation
- Names of both team members
- College Name
- Zone
- Presentations will have to be uploaded only on the Unstop platform before the deadline of 11:59 PM, 18th January 2026.
- Only one submission per team will be allowed.
- Following the evaluation of presentations, the top-performing teams from each zone will qualify for the next stage.
- The official results will be made available on the website. The qualified teams will also be communicated on their registered email address.
- Qualified teams will receive detailed instructions regarding the zonal finals.
4. Zonal Finals (21st January 2026 - 5th February 2026)
Format:
- Qualifying teams to present solutions for a given problem to a judging panel online.
- The qualifying teams will develop their solution to a given problem and submit the PowerPoint presentation in PDF format by 27th January 2026.
- Only one submission per team will be allowed.
- The Zonal Finals will be held from 3rd February to 5th February 2026. The teams will present their solutions in front of a distinguished panel of judges virtually.
- Teams will be assessed by the judge panel based on several parameters: understanding of the problem statement, clarity and effectiveness of the solution, presentation, and communication skills, and performance during the Q&A session.
- Winners and Runners-Up from each Zonal Finals will qualify for the National Finals.
5. National Finals (6th February 2026 - 13th February 2026)
Format:
- Detailed instructions about the National Finals will be shared on their registered email address.
- The qualifying teams will develop their solution to a given problem and submit the 12-slide PowerPoint presentation in PDF format by 11th February 2026.
- Only one submission per team will be allowed.
- The presentation for the National Finals will be held on 13th February 2026 in New Delhi. The teams will present their solutions in front of a distinguished judge panel.
- Teams will be assessed by the judging panel based on several parameters: understanding of the problem statement, clarity and effectiveness of the solution, presentation and communication skills, and performance during the Q&A session.
Note - Transportation and accommodation arrangements for the finalists will be taken care of by the NationBuilding team.
Prizes worth ₹16 Lakhs are up for grabs. Round-wise prize details are as follows:
- National Finals:
- Cash Awards: The top 3 teams will be awarded a total cash prize of ₹10 lakhs, as follows:
- Winner: ₹5 Lakhs
- First Runners-Up: ₹3 Lakhs
- Second Runners-Up: ₹2 Lakhs
- Other Prizes:
- Members of the winning team will each receive a MacBook.
- Members of the First Runners-Up and Second Runners-Up teams will each receive iPads.
- All National Finalist teams, except the winners, will win ₹30,000 each.
- Placement and internship offers for selected students.
- Exclusive merchandise for all national finalists.
- Cash Awards: The top 3 teams will be awarded a total cash prize of ₹10 lakhs, as follows:
Note: Only the final year students from the teams reaching in National Finals will be eligible for placement opportunities. Other students participating in the National Finals will be considered eligible for internship opportunities.
- Zonal Finals:
- E-certificates will be issued to all participants and winners.
- Presentation Submission:
- E-certificates will be issued to all participants.
- Online Quiz:
- E-certificates will be issued to all participants.
All final decisions lie with Nation with Namo and Unstop.
