NBC Idea Factory Season 10: Stages and Timelines
MCQ Assessment
Registered teams will take a 30-minute MCQ assessment with 30 questions anytime within the 8-hour window. The questions will be based on Aptitude and Computer Fundamentals. The team's average score will determine their progression to the next round.
Idea Pitch Submission
The shortlisted teams need to submit a 2-slide idea summary in PowerPoint format based on the provided topic, i.e. Smart Aftermarket: Predictive Sales through Connected Customer Data. You need to focus on designing innovative solutions that leverage connected customer and product data to predict aftermarket demand (Bearings, adjacencies and services), enhance service responsiveness, and unlock new revenue opportunities through data-driven insights.
Detailed Submission and Virtual Presentations
Shortlisted teams need to submit an 8-10 slider PPT (excluding cover and annexure slides) that presents their innovative ideas and problem-solving strategies based on insights from the previous round. This is the template that needs to be used: Click Here
Teams will then present their solutions to the judging panel, consisting of senior leaders. The top teams will then be invited to the Grand Finale to compete for the winning title.

Grand Finale
The Finalists will present their solution to a panel of eminent leaders of NBC. Results will be declared and the national winners and runners-up will be rewarded in a glittering ceremony.

Launched in 2015, NBC Idea Factory is a flagship initiative that aims to Inspire, Ideate, and Innovate among India’s brightest young engineering minds. This annual technical competition serves as a platform for engineering students to showcase their talent, creativity, and problem-solving skills. With each passing year, NBC invests its expertise and resources to discover and nurture emerging talent, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Eligibility and Team Formation Guidelines:
- NBC Idea Factory Season 10 is open to students across a select list of engineering colleges in India who are pursuing the following degrees:
- BE/ B.Tech. full-time programs - Batch of 2026 and 2027 (Pre-Final and Final year students)
- Dual degree full-time program - Batch of 2026 and 2027 (Pre-Final and Final year students)
- Students must register in teams of 2-4 members.
- Cross-specialization teams can participate.
- Only students from the same campus can form a team.
- There is no restriction on the number of teams from an institute.
- Teams with gender diversity will earn bonus points.
Competition Structure:
MCQ Assessment:
- All registered teams will have to take an MCQ assessment.
- The assessment will consist of 30 questions to be answered in 30 minutes.
- The assessment window will be open for 8 hours, and participants can attempt the assessment anytime within the provided window.
- Participants will be tested on aptitude and computer fundamentals.
- Each participant will be evaluated based on their accuracy and speed. If two participants answer a question correctly, the one who responds faster will be ranked higher.
- The average score of all team members will be considered for final evaluations.
- Teams will move on to the next level based on their performance in this quiz.
Idea Submission:
- Shortlisted teams from Round - I can participate in this round.
- Teams are required to submit an idea summary as a 2-slider PPT.
- You'll be able to make submissions until the deadline for this round anytime during the provided window.
Mentorship Phase:
- Shortlisted teams will be mentored by leaders from NBC.
- They will work with their respective mentors to prepare their innovative submissions for the upcoming phases.

- Shortlisted teams from the Idea Submission Round can participate in this round.
- Teams must submit a comprehensive 8-10 slider PPT (excluding cover and annexure slides), showcasing their innovative ideas and problem-solving strategies derived from insights gained in the previous round.
- You'll be able to make submissions until the deadline for this round anytime during the provided window.
- Teams will then present their solutions to the judging panel, consisting of senior leaders and alumni.
- The top teams will be invited to the Grand Finale to compete for the winning title.
Grand Finale:
- The top teams will advance as National Finalists.
- The Finalists will also present their solution to a panel of eminent leaders of NBC.
- Results will be declared and the national winners and runners-up will be rewarded in a glittering ceremony.
Prizes and Rewards:
- The winning team will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 1,50,000.
- The first runners-up team will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 1,00,000.
- The second runners-up team will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 50,000.
