ServiceNow Women Code to Win 2023 - India: Stages and Timelines

Level 1.1—Quizzing

Team members will have to solve 10 MCQs based on Data Structure, Algorithms, Logical/Critical thinking and about ServiceNow in 15 minutes. This is not an elimination round—the combined score of quizzing and coding rounds will be considered for shortlisting teams for the Ideathon.

This is the second part of the preliminary evaluation. Participants will be given 75 minutes to solve 2 coding questions. Team scores will be calculated by taking the average of the scores secured by all team members. Participants can code in any coding language of their choice.

Level 2—Ideathon

Student teams must choose any one out of the 4 available problem statements/themes and submit an idea related to it. Student teams are expected to submit their idea along with the functional and basic technical design of it in the given format.

Level 3.1—Prototype Building

Shortlisted student teams will be allocated 2 mentors per team from ServiceNow who will guide them in building the prototype. Mentors will only connect twice during this period and will act as an advisory/guide to build the prototype. Teams are required to submit the complete prototype, design, finale presentation, and code in this round.

Level 3.2—Finale Presentation

The finale will be a 4-hour session which will be hosted virtually on the Zoom platform. Shortlisted student teams will get 10 minutes to present followed by 5 minutes of Q&A to present their prototype to the judging panel.

Eligibility Criteria:

Women Code to Win – India is open to female full-time students across all engineering colleges in India who are—

  • Pursuing BE/ BTech/ ME/ MTech/ Dual Degree/ MSc/ MCA
  • Graduating in the year 2023/ 2024/ 2025

Team Formation Guidelines:

  • Group A - Team members should be final-year undergrads i.e from the Batch of 2023 only.
  • Group B - Team members should be from the Batch of 2024 and/or 2025 only.
  • Cross-year teams are only allowed for Group B team formation.
  • Cross-college teams are not allowed.
  • The participating students can be from any specialization.
  • Team leaders for respective teams should take the lead in filling out the registration form. 
  • Teams can choose to have a team name that is neutral without containing any offensive/vulgar language and does not violate any intellectual property rights of others.
  • A student can only be part of one team.
  • Any deviation from the above team composition guidelines will result in the immediate disqualification of the entire team.
  • Modification of team post registration will not be allowed.
  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Any cases of plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification of the concerned candidates.

ServiceNow and Unstop reserve the right to verify your eligibility. By participating, you agree to provide ServiceNow and Unstop with proof of eligibility. Your refusal and failure to submit may result in disqualification of the team’s participation.

Competition Levels: 

Level 1 – Quizzing + Coding

  • This is the entry level to ServiceNow Women Code to Win Contest which will test the student teams based on their technical and coding skills.
  • This round has two parts of evaluations: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Coding.
  • Participants will be given a total of 90 minutes— 15 minutes to solve 10 MCQs and the remaining 75 minutes for solving 2 Coding questions.
  • The MCQ section will have questions related to Data Structure, Algorithms, Logical/Critical Thinking and ServiceNow!
  • The Coding section will require students to tackle 2 coding questions with varying difficulty levels.
  • Participants can code in any coding language of their choice.
  • All team members will be able to attempt the assessment rounds individually and team scores will be compiled by taking the average score of all team members i.e 3.

Level 2 – Ideathon

  • This level will challenge the student teams on their creative thinking, problem-solving and design thinking skills!
  • Student teams must choose any one out of the following problem statements/themes and submit an idea related to it:
    • Future of Sustainable Environment - Create innovative applications through technology and digitization to the goals of sustainability, thereby maintaining an ecological balance
    • Future of Workplace - Identify and address real challenges of the new way of working post Covid-19 and create innovative workplace solutions aimed at shaping the future workplace
    • Future of Automation (Hyperautomation) - Explore the benefits of Hyperautomation and create innovative solutions to address challenges and use cases across multiple industry domains
    • Future of Education - Address challenges with the onset of a new era of education that is shifting from a more centralized structure to a decentralized model, and create innovative solutions
  • Student teams are expected to submit the idea along with the functional and basic technical design of the idea in the given format. 
  • Teams can capture the technical and functional aspects of the idea proposed in the form of a PPT/Word doc/2-minute video.
  • The judging criteria for this level will include—
    • Innovation
    • Technical Design
    • Impact
    • Feasibility and Implementation
    • Overall Presentation of Idea
  • Teams shortlisted from this round will go on to code and build a working prototype of the idea they proposed and will present the same during the finale.

Level 3 – Prototype Building and Finale Presentation

  • This level aims to test the technical, functional, innovation and problem-solving capabilities of the participating teams!
  • Shortlisted student teams will be allocated 2 mentors per team from ServiceNow who will guide them in building the prototype.
  • Mentors will only connect twice during this period and will act as an advisory/guide to build the prototype.
  • Teams should submit the complete prototype, design, finale presentation, and code to ServiceNow via the Unstop platform. 
  • The finale will be a 4-hour session and will be hosted virtually on the Zoom platform.
  • Shortlisted student teams will present their prototype to the judging panel and will have 10 minutes to present, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A.
  • The judging criteria followed for the Hackathon finale will be as follows—
    • Technical Difficulty
    • Scalability
    • User Experience
    • Implementation
    • Presentation and Communication
    • Teamwork and Collaboration
