Clash of the Bands (The Informal Event): Stages and Timelines

Round 1: Online submission

Interested bands will be required to submit a video of their performance (minimum 3 minutes) in mp4 format.

Live Performance

Based on the videos submitted, shortlisted bands will be invited for the campus round to compete in the Final.

Event Description:

OJAS, SPJIMR is back with the 12th edition of the Clash of the Bands! So bring out your six-strings, showcase those melodies, unleash the dual bass and make the crowd head bang to your exhilarating performances!

So come forth to prove your mettle at one of the most happening places in Mumbai.

‘Music: On, World: Off’

 

Rules & Regulations:

  1. A band must have a minimum of 3 members and maximum of 6.
  2. Participants must have a valid college ID card to participate.
  3. There is no restriction on the genre of music except instrumental songs that are not allowed. The bands may play covers or their original compositions. The songs can be in Hindi or English language only. Lyrics will be checked for vulgarity and profanity.
  4. Time limit: 20 minutes (including setup time and sound check). Marks will be deducted for exceeding the time limit.
  5. Teams are expected to mention the approximate time of their performances at the time of registration.
  6. Participants are required to bring their own instruments. Only the drum kit will be provided (you have to bring along your cymbals and chokes/high hats).
  7. The decision of the judges will be final and binding under all circumstances.

 

Judging Criteria:

  1. Stage performance and overall talent
  2. Synchronization
  3. Quality of music (Rhythm, pitch, clarity)
  4. Energy
  5. Crowd reaction
