Amazon ML Challenge: Stages and Timelines

Teams will receive the problem statement and dataset on Day 1 and have until Day 3 to submit their solutions. A live leaderboard will track performance throughout the challenge. Each team must upload a 1-2 page document outlining their approach, along with their code/script/notebook in a zipped file.

Finale

Based on the leaderboard results and the solution presented in the document at the end of Round 1, the top 10 teams will be invited to the Grand Finale to present their solutions to Amazon's Scientists. The finale will be hosted live virtually on 24th September 2024.

All that you need to know about Amazon ML Challenge

Amazon ML Challenge is a two-stage competition where students from all engineering campuses across India will get a unique opportunity to work on Amazon’s dataset to bring in fresh ideas and build innovative solutions for a real-world problem statement. The top three winning teams will receive cash prizes and certificates.

Eligibility and Team Rules:

  • This competition is open to all students enrolled in PhD/ M.E./M.Tech./ M.S./MS by Research/B.E./B.Tech. full-time degree across all engineering campuses in India.
  • Graduation Year: 2025 or 2026
  • Each team must consist of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 members.
  • Each team must have a team leader.
  • Cross-college teams are allowed.
  • One student cannot be a member of more than one team.

Competition Structure:

Round 1 - ML Hackathon:

  • All teams will get access to the problem statement with the data set on day 1 and will have time to build and submit solutions till day 3.
  • Teams can track their performance through the leaderboard which will reflect team rankings live over the course of this challenge.
  • Each team should upload a document between 1 and 2 pages detailing their approach to the solution, along with a zipped file containing the code, script, or notebook.

Round 2 - Finale:

Based on the leaderboard results and the solution presented in the document at the end of Round 1, the top 10 teams will be invited to the Grand Finale to present their solutions to Amazon's Scientists. The finale will be hosted live virtually on 24th September 2024.

Rewards:

  • The winners will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 1,00,000, certificates and goodies.
  • The first runners-up will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 75,000, certificates and goodies.
  • The second runners-up will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 50,000, certificates and goodies.
  • The top 10 teams will be rewarded with certificates and goodies.
  • The top 50 teams in the Amazon ML Challenge will be rewarded with Pre-Placement Interviews (PPIs) for the role of Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon.
