Code-A-Thon 2.0: Stages and Timelines

Round 1 : PPT and Video Submission

Points to be noted :
1. PPT Template is given in the official website
2. Problem Statements are Live for the Hackathon on Website.
3.Video for the Proposed solution is not mandatory but if submitted extra points would be given.

All the Participants shortlisted from this round will go to Final Offline round.

Offline Round (On Campus)

Offline Round will consist of :
1. Two Mentoring rounds will be conducted
2. Changes Made based on mentoring round will be evaluated.
3. More detailed Plan would be shared on the venue itselfAll the Participants have to build their Prototype from home.

All that you need to know about Code-A-Thon 2.0

Details:

  • CSI DMCE presents the second edition of its flagship hybrid hackathon, CODE-A-THON 2.0, an innovation-focused competition designed to foster creativity, technical excellence, and futuristic problem-solving.
  • This year’s theme, Hack The Space, inspires participants to push boundaries, explore emerging technologies, and develop impactful solutions to the official problem statements provided by the organising committee.
  • CODE-A-THON 2.0 follows a two-stage hybrid format, combining online evaluation with an intensive offline hackathon - enabling students to demonstrate their skills from ideation to execution.

Event Format:

Round 1: Online Screening (Idea Submission)

Participants must submit:

  • A structured PPT describing their proposed solution
  • A short video explaining the concept
  • The PPT Template is given in the website 
  • The Problem Statement are also given on the website

Submissions must align with the theme Hack The Space and must be based on the official problem statements provided by CSI DMCE.

Shortlisted teams will be invited to participate in the offline hackathon.

Round 2: Offline Hackathon (On Campus)

Time: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM (12 hours)
Venue: Datta Meghe College of Engineering (DMCE), Airoli

Shortlisted teams are required to start building their prototype from home. The offline round focuses on completing, refining, and presenting the final solution.

Teams must present:

  • A working prototype
  • Business model
  • Impact analysis
  • Target user segment
  • Technical feasibility and implementation details

Evaluation will consider innovation, usability, clarity, real-world relevance, and technical depth.

Important Eligibility Note:

The hackathon is recommended to students from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), including:

  • Mumbai
  • Navi Mumbai
  • Thane
  • Kalyan–Dombivli
  • Panvel
  • Karjat
  • Nearby reachable regions within MMR

Participants from Pune, Nashik or any outstation location beyond MMR should register but based on your decisions and consent letters will be taken by organisers, as the offline round requires same-day travel feasibility.

Eligibility:

  • Open to undergraduate and diploma students within the MMR region
  • Teams of 2 to 4 members
  • Students from any branch with basic technical knowledge
  • A valid student ID card is mandatory

General Guidelines:

  • Shortlisted teams must attend the offline round in person.
  • Participants must bring laptops, chargers, and required project components.
  • Evaluation will be based on innovation, feasibility, technical complexity, impact, and presentation.
  • Submissions must include documentation, repository/demo links, and a concise PPT.
  • Lunch will be provided during the offline hackathon.
  • Organisers’ decisions will be final and binding.
  • Event timings may be adjusted based on operational requirements.
  • Refer to the official event page or contact organisers for detailed instructions.

Prize Pool: ₹25,000

Overall Hackathon Awards (Not PS-based):

  • First Prize: ₹12,000
  • Second Prize: ₹8,000
  • Third Prize: ₹5,000

All winning team members will receive medals and certificates.
Participation certificates will be awarded to all shortlisted teams for offline hackathon.
