SupeRR Selector Season 2: Help Shape Rajasthan Royals' IPL 2027 Auction Strategy

SupeRR Selector is back. Rajasthan Royals invites students, data enthusiasts, analysts and cricket fans from across the country to step into the shoes of a modern talent scout, one who blends cricketing instinct with the power of data.

Participants get access to exclusive RR data that rarely leaves a franchise's war room, and use analytics, machine learning models and interactive dashboards to make the kind of calls RR makes ahead of an auction.

Season 1 drew 7,500+ participants from 39 nationalities. The winners backed Vignesh Puthur in their strategy, and RR went on to bid for and sign him at the IPL 2026 auction. Your idea could be next.

This season, Round 1 asks you to dig into uncapped talent from domestic leagues and help RR find the top 10 youngest uncapped players worth backing. The top 16 will be flown to Mumbai to work with the Royals Analytics team, and one winner will be at the IPL 2027 auction in Goa, pitching to Kumar Sangakkara and Giles Lindsay.

Eligibility:

• Students, early working professionals and everyone else are welcome to apply.

Round Descriptions & Guidelines: 

• Round 1: Find the Youngest Uncapped Stars
  • Analyse the data pack of uncapped domestic players, along with public data, and submit your top 10 picks and rationale as a PDF, PPT or dashboard.

• Round 2: In-Person Hackathon by Royals Analytics
  
  • The top 16 work on a more detailed challenge in Mumbai.

• Round 3: IPL 2027 Auction Finale
  
  • The Round 2 winner attends the IPL 2027 auction in Goa and presents to Kumar Sangakkara and Giles Lindsay.

Rules:

• Participation is individual only; no teams.
• You're welcome to use AI tools for research, analysis and building your case. The insights, picks and recommendations in your final submission must be your own; copied or wholly AI-generated submissions may be disqualified.
• Only one submission per participant is allowed.
• The data pack is for use in this competition only and must not be shared or published.
• The decision of the Rajasthan Royals and Unstop evaluation panel will be final and binding.
• Shortlisted participants must be available to travel to Mumbai and, if selected, to Goa for the auction.
• Shortlisted participants must carry a valid government photo ID for travel.

Rewards and Prizes:

• Winner: A fully sponsored trip to Goa to be present at the IPL 2027 auction with Rajasthan Royals, and the chance to present your strategy to Kumar Sangakkara and Giles Lindsay. Certificate included.
• Top 16 Finalists from Round 2: An all-expenses-paid trip to Mumbai, including travel and stay, plus an exclusive Rajasthan Royals merch kit, along with mentorship from RR team. Opportunity to work with Rajasthan Royals on a live project or internship basis (*subject to eligibility). Certificate included.
• Top 25 Participants of Round 1: An additional 25 participants, beyond the top 16, will receive an exclusive Rajasthan Royals merch kit.
• Participation Certificate: All Round 1 participants will get a Certificate of Participation.
