India's Best Coder: Stages and Timelines

All that you need to know about India's Best Coder

Are you ready to prove your coding mettle and earn the title of India's Best Coder? IIT Bombay brings you a thrilling one-round national coding competition hosted on Unstop – your chance to stand out among the brightest minds in the country!

Guidelines:

  • Eligibility:
    • Open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students across India.
    • Participants must be enrolled in a recognized college or university.
    • A valid student ID is required.
  • Team Structure:
    • Individual participation only – no teams allowed.
  • Inter-college Participation:
    •  Allowed – Students from all colleges/universities can participate.
  • Inter-specialization Participation:
    •  Allowed – Students from all academic streams and specializations are welcome.
  • Platform:
    • The competition will be conducted online via Unstop (www.unstop.com).
  • Format:
    • Single Round Online Coding Challenge
    • Participants will be required to solve 3-4 coding problems of varying difficulty levels (easy to hard).
    • Languages allowed: C++, Java, Python.
  • Duration:
    • The round will be of 2 hours (120 minutes).
  • Evaluation Criteria:
    • Accuracy of solutions
    • Time taken
    • Code efficiency and logic

Rules:

  • The competition is strictly individual – no collaboration or external help is allowed.
  • Participants must submit original code. Plagiarism or use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) will result in disqualification.
  • All submissions must be made within the time limit on Unstop.
  • There will be no re-evaluation or objections once results are declared.
  • The decision of the organizers will be final and binding.

About Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay

  • Established in 1958, the second of the IIT family, IIT Bombay was the first to be set up with foreign assistance.
  • Located in Powai, one of the northern suburbs of Mumbai, the residents of IIT Bombay reap the advantage of being in the busy financial capital of India, while at the same time enjoying the serenity of a campus known for its natural beauty.
  • It is a fully residential institute having 15 hostels with in-house dining and it also provides excellent amenities for sports and other recreational facilities.
  • The institute campus at Powai extends over 200 hectares and is situated in picturesque surroundings with the Vihar and the Powai lakes on either side and green hills in and around.
  • IIT Bombay Song: During the sixties, the Institute picked a song to call of its own - a Rabindranath Tagore's original translated from the Bengali. The worshipper in the song asks the 'Infinite One' to grant them, among other virtues, enlightenment, diligence, and fearlessness: arguably the prime ingredients of the academic spirit. The reproductions here are in the Devanagari and in its transliterated form.
