Ves-Hack-It: Stages and Timelines
Software Track Round 1 - Presentation Submission ( FREE REGISTRATION )
Participating teams are welcome to select one problem statement of their choice and prepare a presentation highlighting their proposed solution. The problem statements will be sent to the registered email addresses. These statements will be related to the following domains:
- Mental Health
- Digital Literacy
- Renewable Energy
- Climate Change
- Food Management

Hardware Track Preliminary Round - Training Workshops
Participants will attend workshops on essential tools like Arduino, ESP, Raspberry Pi, and FPGAs. These sessions will equip them with the technical knowledge required for the hackathon. (Note: Attendance in these workshops is mandatory to qualify for Round 1.)
Hardware Track Round 1 - Presentation Round
Participants will present their selected domain and problem statement on 31st Jan at VESIT. Judges will evaluate the feasibility and innovation of the solutions.
Round 2 - Final Round
Participants will work on their proposed solutions in a 30-hour hackathon. Teams must implement, test, and present their solutions during this round.

VES-HACK-IT: Where Technology Meets Sustainability
Are you ready to innovate and tackle global challenges with cutting-edge solutions? VES-HACK-IT is a 30 Hour long intercollegiate hackathon that brings together the brightest minds to design eco-friendly, energy-efficient, and socially responsible solutions for a better tomorrow.
Organized in collaboration with the student chapters of ISTE, CSI, ISA, and IEEE, this event is a proud part of VESIT’s Ruby Jubilee celebrations.
Participants will explore two domains - Software and Hardware - each designed to push the boundaries of traditional tech and drive sustainable, and impactful solutions for real-world challenges.
Event Details:
- Date: 15-16th February, 2025 (Final Hackathon Round)
- Venue: Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Technology, Hashu Advani Memorial Complex, Collectors Colony, Chembur, Mumbai - 400074
- Eligibility:
Open to students from any year and branch of B.E./B. Tech programs, Technical Diploma colleges, or Management colleges of Mumbai Suburban Region or Nearby Areas. - Registration Fee:
- Software:
- Round 1: None.
- Final Round: ₹200/- per team ( Offline Round)
- Hardware: ₹400/- per team for the Workshop (Mandatory)

Both Tracks Have a Different Structure as given below.
Software Track:
- Round 1 - Presentation Round:
- The Problem Statements for the Software Track will sent to the registered participants.
- Participating teams are free to choose any 1 problem statement and create a presentation showcasing their proposed solution.
- Presentation Submission will take place from 20th Jan -25st Jan 2025.
- The teams that have been selected have to appear for the final round on 15th Feb at VESIT.
Hardware Track:
- Preliminary Round - Training Workshops:
- Hands-on workshop on essential tools like Arduino, ESP, Raspberry Pi, and FPGAs.
- Gain insights into hardware technologies and techniques.
- Round 1 - Presentation Round:
- The presentation round will be conducted on 31st Jan 2025 at VESIT where teams will present their selected domain, problem statement and proposed solution.
- Domains include Healthcare, Animal Husbandry & Agriculture, IoT & Industry 4.0, Disaster Management & Renewable Energy, and Robotics & Engineering.
- The teams that have been selected have to appear for the final round on 15th Feb at VESIT.
Round 2 - Final Round (For Both Tracks):
- The Final Round will be conducted on 15th Feb 2025.
- Shortlisted teams have to Report at 7:00 AM sharp at VESIT.
- The hackathon will begin at 9 AM.
Notes:
- Teams must finalize their problem statement after the workshops and cannot change it later.
- Teams can bring their mentors or professors along with them.
- Required components must be communicated post-presentation; unavailable components must be arranged by teams.
- Participants must stay on campus for the entire event duration.
Guidlines & Rules:
- Each team can have a maximum of 4 members.
- Code of Conduct:
- Maintain respectful behavior toward all participants, organizers, and staff.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the venue. Misuse of property will lead to disqualification.
- Teams must stay on campus for the full duration of the event.
- Teams cannot change their problem statement after the presentation round.
- Each participant must carry a valid college ID card and Government ID proof.
Event Timeline:
- 4th Jan - 20th Jan: Registration for software track.
- 4th Jan - 18th Jan: Registration and Workshop Selection for Hardware track.
- 15th Jan: Problem Statement Reveal.
- 20th - 21st Jan: Preference Form and Problem Statement Allocation.
- 21st Jan - 25th Jan: Presentation Submission.
- 20th Jan - 22nd Jan: Hardware Workshop
- 25th Jan - 30th Jan: Domain selection and component list sharing (for Hardware Track only).
- 31st Jan: PPT screening at VESIT (for Hardware track only).
- 2nd Feb: Announcement of shortlisted teams.
- 15th - 16th Feb: Main hackathon event.
Prizes (For each track):
- Winner: ₹50,000/-
- Runner-Up: ₹25,000/-
