UPL is hiring for the role of Data Scientist!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Implement complex statistical analyses for data processing, exploration, model building, and implementation.
- Lead teams of 2-3 associate data scientists in the use case building and delivery process.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Drive ideation around the modeling process and develop models, including re-iteration and fine-tuning.
- Contribute to knowledge building and sharing by researching best practices, documenting solutions, and mentoring junior team members.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Operations Research, Economics, or a related field.
- Advanced programming skills in at least one coding language (R/Python/Scala).
- Practical experience in developing advanced statistical and machine learning models.
- At least 2 years of relevant analytics experience.
- Preferred experience with large database systems.
- Niche expertise in at least one functional domain.
- Ability to work well in agile environments with diverse teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in leading small teams.
- Proficient in problem-solving complex issues and breaking them down into simpler components.
- Strong communication skills for conveying complex analytical and technical content.
- High energy and passion for collaborating with team members.
- Entrepreneurial drive to test innovative techniques.
- Capable of prioritizing workstreams and adopting an agile approach, with a willingness to experiment and innovate.
