About the role:
We are seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to join our Autonomous Systems team in Goa. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying complete robotic systems using the Robot Operating System (ROS). This role involves working across the entire robotics stack, including localization, navigation, path planning, control systems, simulation, and real-world deployment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with ROS, strong programming skills, and a passion for developing autonomous robotic solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop full-stack robotics applications using ROS2.
- Design and implement localization systems for robotic platforms.
- Develop navigation and path-planning solutions.
- Build and optimize control systems, including PID and basic model-based controllers.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and embedded systems into robotic platforms.
- Work with communication protocols such as CAN, UART, and Ethernet.
- Perform simulation, testing, and validation using Gazebo.
- Deploy robotic systems in real-world environments and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Debug, optimize, and maintain robotic software for reliable field performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support autonomous system development and deployment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in robotics software development.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Hands-on experience with ROS1 and/or ROS2.
- Good understanding of localization, navigation, path planning, and control systems.
- Knowledge of sensor integration, actuator control, and embedded systems.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, UART, and Ethernet.
- Experience with simulation tools such as Gazebo.
- Ability to deploy, test, and debug robotic systems in real-world environments.
- Experience with UAV, ASV, or AUV systems preferred.
- Familiarity with Nav2 preferred.
- Knowledge of sensor fusion techniques such as EKF and UKF preferred.
- Experience working with embedded platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson and Raspberry Pi preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Interest in working on advanced autonomous and robotic systems in real-world deployment environments, including marine robotics applications.
