Ascent, The Alumni Strategy Challenge: Stages and Timelines
Round 1: Are you a biz wiz? (Business Quiz Round)
Business is all about making the right decisions at the right place and right time, and often it is about knowing the right things.
Step up to showcase your decision-making and time management with Round 1 being an objective quiz on Unstop to test your knowledge across general business knowledge, management concepts, and current affairs in a time-bound test. Accuracy and speed both are important. Remember: Only the Top 50 teams would qualify!
Round 2: Can you think it through? (Case Submission Round)
Analyse a real-world business case, focusing on the real industry problem statement shared to the teams which qualify to this round. Teams would have 5 days to analyse the case, develop solutions and submit a presentation deck (max. 8 slides, excluding cover page and max 4 appendix slides).
Important: The deck can have up to 8 slides (+4 appendix) excluding cover and team slides. Please note it is not compulsory to stick to 8 slides, that's the maximum that any team is allowed to make. Brevity is appreciated here. Top 15 teams make it to the next round.
Round 3: Leverage the mentorship! (Online mentoring by IIMB Alumni)
The 10 finalist teams shall be mapped to an alumnus each which will allow them to improve their submission with discussion and insights from the esteemed alumni. The teams shall be required to make final submissions to this portal by Aug 10, 06:00PM.
Round 4: Can you make a compelling case? (Presentation Round- Hybrid Mode)
The final presentation round, would be a 8-minute presentation, followed by a 4-minute Q&A with our jury panel composed of experienced industry professionals, including the founder of ClaimBuddy. Evaluation would be done on presentation content, its delivery, and the Q&A performance (detailed evaluation criteria to be shared with teams which qualify for the finals). The teams shall strictly be required to use the deck submitted in Round 3 for their presentations.

The Alumni Committee at IIMB, along with ClaimBuddy and Team Vista, is excited to be introduce Ascent: The Alumni Strategy Challenge. Test your business acumen and collaborate with alumni community in this case competition to solve a real-world business challenge. You stand a chance to receive guidance from the alumni of IIMB, and compete for exciting prizes.
This event offers a unique opportunity for students to:
- Gain valuable insights from experienced alumni mentors
- Develop their problem-solving and analytical skills while solving a real business problem from the industry

Are you ready to make your Ascent yet?
Ascent is a team event (of up to 3 student, cross campus teams allowed). The event will be conducted in multiple rounds to test your knowledge across strategy, business problem solving and management. Details of the rounds are as follows:
Round 1: Are you a biz wiz? (Business Quiz Round)

- Problem identification and analysis (Scoping)
- Creativity and feasibility of proposed solutions (Novelty and practicality)
- Clarity and conciseness of presentation (Structure, style, synthesis)
Important: The deck can have up to 8 slides (+4 appendix) excluding cover and team slides. Please note it is not compulsory to stick to 8 slides, that's the maximum that any team is allowed to make. Brevity is appreciated here. Top 15 teams make it to the next round.

The participants must carefully read through and agree to the following terms & conditions:
- All decisions in matters of eligibility, authenticity, and final judgments will be with the organizing committee of Vista, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. The format and structure of events on campus could be subject to change before the actual beginning of the event.
- The decisions of the organizers will be final and binding on all participants.
