Round 1: IPO Phase (Offline)
Each team starts with Rs. 5,00,000 to invest in a pre-decided list of five stocks at their IPO prices, forming the initial market float.
Rounds 2-5: Trading Phase (Offline)
The game consists of 5 trading rounds, each starting with a 2-minute news flash, followed by a 10-minute trading window where teams trade stocks using color-coded slips, with prices fluctuating based on transactions.

General Guidelines for The Dalal Street (Mock Stock Simulation)
Eligibility:
- Open to all participants aged 18 years and above.
- Teams of 2 members can participate.
- Participants must register in advance to be eligible for the event.
Registration:
- Participants must register on Unstop by the specified deadline.
- Registration should include the Team’s name, list of members, contact details, name of the institution, and personal email ID of any one team member.
Dispute Resolution:
- All disputes regarding trade validation, stock price changes, and team conduct will be handled by the event brokers and organizers.
- The decision of the event organizers will be final and binding.
- Teams found engaging in unethical practices, such as forging slips or collusion, will face immediate disqualification.
Conduct and Integrity:
- Teams must adhere to fair play and maintain professionalism throughout the event.
- Tampering with event resources or obstructing the smooth flow of the event may result in disqualification.
Additional Rules:
- Circuit limits and trading restrictions must be adhered to at all times.
- Teams are responsible for keeping track of their cash balances and portfolio updates.
- Short selling and overbuying are strictly prohibited.
Competition Rounds
- Round 1 - IPO Phase:
- Initial Capital: Rs. 5,00,000 per team (2 individuals per team)
- Stock Selection: Teams will choose from a pre-decided list of five stocks, each with a predetermined IPO price. These purchases will create the initial market float.
- Rounds 2-5 - Trading Phase:
- Rounds: There are 5 rounds of trading.
- News Headlines: Each round begins with a 2-minute news flash, potentially impacting stock prices.
- Trading Window: Teams have 10 minutes post-news to execute trades.
- Tracking: Cash balances and portfolios will be displayed at the start and end of each round.
Trading Mechanics:
- Trade with other teams using colour-coded slips: Green for buying, Red for selling.
- Stock prices fluctuate based on round transactions.
Important Instructions:
- Round 1 - IPO Phase:
- Invest a minimum of Rs. 3,00,000 and a maximum of Rs. 5,00,000.
- Purchase at least 2 out of the 5 stocks displayed.
- Google Forms will be used to record the IPO details.
- Circuit Limits & Trading Restrictions:
- Prices will fluctuate within pre-defined limits.
- Short selling and overbuying are not allowed.
- Transaction Caps: A maximum of 3 transactions is allowed between the same two teams across all rounds.
- Trade Validation: Brokers will verify that trade slips match team numbers, transaction prices are within limits, and the correct slips are used.
Judging Criteria:
- The winning team will be determined based on the net portfolio value, which includes the total value of stocks held and the remaining cash balance at the end of the final trading round.
- In case of a tie, teams with the most diversified portfolio will have an advantage.
Code of Conduct:
- Respect all participants, organizers, and audience members.
- The use of alcohol, drugs, or any prohibited substances is strictly forbidden.
- Any damage caused to equipment or venue property will be charged to the responsible team.
