MarkGuru, A Marketing Case Competition: Stages and Timelines
Round 1: Marketing Quiz
This is an online Quiz and will be an elimination round. Team Mash will set the cutoff score for shortlisting the team to further rounds. The quiz will be hosted on Unstop for a duration of 20 minutes students can take it within a 25-minute window. Both accuracy and speed will affect the final score. The team leader (who did the registration) can log in and attempt the quiz with the help of the teammates.
Round 2: Case Submission Round (via Unstop)
When it comes to evaluating the quintessential marketing skills, what’s better than a real-time business problem? If shortlisted, you will move to the final round where you will be solving a real-life case showcasing your understanding of the marketing challenges and ability to curate the best strategy for a modern-day consumer. Remember, the consumer is the king!
Round 3: Final Case Presentation (Hybrid Mode)
The top 10 finalists will have to present their case submissions in front of the judges. The final presentation will be held offline in the campus of IIM Bangalore. The format for this round will be: 8 minutes (for presentation) + 4 mins (Q&A). (Hybrid mode)

IIM Bangalore’s International Business Summit Vista 2024, in association with MaSh, the Marketing Club of IIMB, presents MarkGuru.
The landscape of marketing is undergoing a profound shift, driven not just by diverse platforms, data, and trends, but by increasingly savvy consumers resistant to conventional marketing tactics. Marketers must now exhibit agility and precision in their strategies. MarkGuru serves as a litmus test for modern marketers, challenging them to demonstrate impactful communication and innovative problem-solving abilities in response to real-world challenges.
Overall Guidelines:
- There will be a total of 3 rounds
- Round 1 will be a Quiz (Elimination Round) of 20 min.
- Round 2 will be the Case Submission round. The top 10 from this round will move to Round 3.
- The names of the top 10 finalists will be released on 6th August 2024
- Round 3: Finalists will have to be present in IIM Bangalore and campus and present in front of our jury.
- Inter-specialization team members are allowed.
- Cross-college teams are not allowed.
Round 2 Guidelines:
- Case details will be released at the start of the round
- This will be a submission round. You will see the “Submit” button once the round is live.
- All submissions will be via the Unstop Platform
- There can be a maximum of 8 slides excluding cover-page and appendix
- The top 10 teams from this round will move to the final presentation round
Terms and Conditions:
The participants must carefully read through and agree to the following terms & conditions:
- All decisions in matters of eligibility, authenticity, and final judgments will be with the organizing committee of Vista, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
- The format and structure of events on campus could be subject to change before the commencement of the event.
- The decisions of the organizers will be final and binding on all participants.
