Prod-A-Thon, A Product Case Competition: Stages and Timelines

Round 1: Product Management Quiz (Online) Pre-Vista Prelims

The round is a online quiz on the product management concepts weaved in the form of an interesting storyline. Teams will be scored based on the total of the points they earn for each correct answer (+1) minus the score of each incorrect answer(-0.25) and time of submission in case there is a tie.

Round 2: Case Competition (Online Submission)

Showcase your inner product manager by coming up with an innovative solution. The problem statement will be released on 30th July. Submit a PPT of not more than 10 slides (appendix of maximum 2 slides can be included). Final PPT and any other supporting documents should be submitted on Unstop before presentation. The naming convention of the PPT would be Prod_a_Thon_TeamName

Round 3: Final Presentation (Hybrid Mode)

Winners of Round 2 will present their decks in IIM Bangalore campus in front of judges followed by Q&A.

*Teams that are unable to make adequate travel arrangements for the finals are advised to communicate at least 2 days prior to the round start date.

IIM Bangalore’s International Business Summit Vista 2024 in association with Sigma – The PM & Tech Club of IIMB and Myntra presents Prod-A-Thon.

Think you are great at product management? Want to try your hand at it? In a real-world scenario? Prod-A-Thon is the perfect place for you. Wear your PM hat and strap in for a ride through the world of tech products.

Round Details:

Round 1: Product Management Quiz:

It is a multiple-choice quiz testing your knowledge of product management and technology understanding. Teams will be scored based on the total of the points they earn for each correct answer (+1) minus the score of each incorrect answer(-0.25) and time of submission in case there is a tie.

Rules:

  • 20-minute quiz based on product management concepts. The quiz window will be of only 30 minutes strictly.
  • MCQ-based quiz with one or more than one correct answer. This will be indicated in each question.
  • Teams will be scored based on the total of the points they earn for each correct answer (+1) minus the score of each incorrect answer(-0.25) and time of submission.
  • The top 100 teams will move to round 2.

Round 2: Case Study:

  • Showcase your inner product manager by coming up with an innovative solution.
  • Submit a PPT of not more than 10 slides (an appendix maximum of 2 slides can be included).
  • The naming convention of the PPT would be Prod_a_Thon_TeamName.
  • The top 10 teams will move to the next round.

Round 3: Final Presentation:

  • The final presentation will be held on the 10th or 11th of August in an offline format.
  • Final PPT and any other supporting documents should be submitted on Unstop before the presentation.

Rules: 

  • Teams must comprise a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 members.
  • All team members must be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate program at the time of the submission.
  • Multiple teams from the same college are allowed.
  • Participants in the same team should be from the same college.
  • All students in the same team must be pursuing the same degree.
  • A student cannot be part of more than one team
