Submission Round
The participating teams are requested to upload a 10-minute clip of the street play in MP4 format along with a PDF file having details of their college and team members. In case of inability to upload file due to size issues, kindly upload it on a google drive link and mention the link in the PDF itself. Please refer to the below section for further details.
Final Round
Shortlisted teams will be invited to IIM Bangalore campus for the final round. Their performance will be evaluated on the basis of script and content, acting and expressions, clarity of message, creativity, audience engagement and team coordination. The Street Play Competition is where streets turn into stages, crowds become living audiences, and performance becomes a spark for change. This is a battle for nukkad natak collectives and theatre practitioners who believe in fearless storytelling, sharp dialogue, and social truth.
With no elaborate sets or props- only conviction, rhythm, and raw honesty- bring voices that question, challenge, and awaken conscience.
The streets are ready.

The competition will be conducted in two rounds- an online elimination round followed by an offline final round at the IIM Bangalore campus.
General Rules:
- One team can have a maximum of 20 members.
- The language used can be Hindi or English, or a mix of both.
- The script should be original/self-written and should not be copied. If found guilty, it would result in the disqualification of the team.
- Inappropriate content, religious blasphemy, and vulgarity/obscenity are strictly prohibited.
- Use of flammable substances such as candles, matches, cigarettes, or any alcoholic product during performance on stage is not allowed and will result in disqualification.
- Any electronic device or recorded music is not allowed. In case electronic devices are to be used as props, it should be informed to the Unmaad team at least 1 hour before the performance.
- No team is allowed to spoil the space (this will lead to a penalty ranging from 10% to 20% of the final score decided by the judges). In any case, the judge's decision will be final.
- The participants are expected to arrange their travel on their own. The organizing team can arrange accommodation, but the expense will be borne by the participants themselves.
Scoring Criteria:
- Script and Content (20 marks): Marks will be provided based on the quality and content of the script, and how well you represent the issue.
- Acting (20 marks): Marks will be provided based on the body language and gestures of the participants.
- Clarity of Message (10 marks): The message you want to provide to the audience must be clear, so a weightage of 10 marks is given to the clarity of the message.
- Creativity (15 marks): It will evaluate creativity in the selection of the issues you want to represent and the use of props, music, and body art in the performance.
- Audience Engagement (15 marks): It evaluates the energy of the performance and audience engagement.
- Teamwork (20 marks): It will evaluate the team coordination & smooth flow of play.
Round 1: Online Elimination Round:
- The team leader is requested to share a 10-minute clip of the final performance.
- Video Naming Convention: TeamName_EventName_RoundNumber
Example: DramaTeam_Aahwan_Round1.mp4 - 10 teams will be shortlisted and invited to the IIM Bangalore campus for the final round.
- The shortlisted teams will be declared Unstop & notified via email before the event.
Round 2: Offline Final Round (On Campus):
- The maximum duration for the street play is 20 minutes.
- Teams exceeding the time limit will be penalized with a penalty of 10% of the score, and those crossing 5 minutes of extra time will be disqualified.
- Teams must bring their own props (including musical instruments) and costumes.
- Teams are expected to perform at an open-air venue.
- No mic would be provided during the final performance.
