Online Elimination Round

Participants need to submit a video online. Please note that this is an elimination round and the top 8 bands shall qualify for Round 2: Final round, which will be on-campus. Final Campus Round

In the final round the selected bands will battle it out with their electric performances. The bands will get 18 minutes to perform a minimum of 2 songs in front of the judges. For further details refer to the rounds section below.

From garage jams to head-banging jams, this battle is for bands that carry the grit of the streets and the soul of rock ’n’ roll. If your music thrives on distortion, rhythm, and crowd connection, this is your moment to turn noise into legacy.

Guidelines: 

  • This is a battle of bands open to all college, corporate, and semi-pro bands.
  • Event comprises two rounds: An online Elimination round and a Final round (on-campus).
  • Both English and regional language rock bands are allowed.
  • Number of participants allowed on stage: Minimum 3, Maximum 10.
  • Bands must register on the Unstop registration page latest by 12th February 2026. Only the Point-of-Contact of the band needs to register (i.e. only one registration per band).
  • One person cannot participate as part of more than one band in the event.
  • Penalty, if any, for the use of vulgar language or any obscenity will be left to the discretion of the judges.
  • The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
  • The organizers hold the right to change/modify rules on the day of the event. 

Rounds: 

Online Elimination Round: 

  • Participants must register on the Unstop registration page latest by 12th February 2026.
  • As part of the online submission, the band must record a video, performing a song of the band’s choice (the recording should not be for less than 2 minutes and should not exceed 8 minutes).
  • Additionally, please note that original compositions will be given preference over covers.
  • Please upload your submission to your google drive and share the link in the submission section. The naming convention should be “<CollegeName/CompanyName/Organization Name/Independent>_<YourName>_BSOR.”. Please make sure that viewing access to the submission is Public. You can refer to the link here to check how to give viewing access 
  • Recording and mixing of audio and subsequently using them for the final video are allowed - EQ, compression and reverb may be used, however, effects like autotune, transpose, etc. are strictly prohibited. 
  • 8 bands shall move to the final (on-campus) round. Please note that registration for the event does not guarantee participation on the final day. Shortlists for the final round will be released and confirmation emails will be sent to the finalists. 

Final (On-Campus) Round: 

  • Finalists are mandatorily required to carry their delegate passes (POC will receive delegate passes on his/her email once registration is complete) on the day of the final round (on-campus). Either a physical copy or a digital copy of the delegate pass shall suffice.
  • A minimum of 3 participants should be on stage at any point in time and be involved in the song as vocalists or instrumentalists.
  • At least two instruments must be used at any point in time.
  • A total of maximum 5 instruments are allowed in this round. Please note that, if you bring 2 guitars, it will be counted as two and NOT one.
  • Participants will have to perform at least two songs within the allocated time. Please note that original compositions will be given preference over covers.
  • Pre-recorded beats and melodies are not allowed.
  • Equipment provided: A drum kit (you may bring along your own cymbals), microphones, and Electrical connections for instruments.
  • In case of any technical failure (concerning mics, power, or instruments), the judge’s decision shall be binding upon all the participants. In such a case, the participants would be allowed to restart the ongoing piece. Time consumed until the previous song shall be maintained.
  • The shortlist for the final performance will be released prior to the event. On-stage time will be 18 minutes from amp-on to amp-off, this includes sound check and setup time of 8 minutes and performance time of 10 minutes. Teams exceeding the time limit will be penalized.
  • Slot picking will be done on the day of the event. The points-of-contact of the bands must be present at the event venue on time for slot picking. Any band absent shall be allotted a random time slot.
  • Two bands may exchange their slots, provided both bands mutually agree. The organizers must be informed about any slot changes well in advance. 

All general rules relating to the performance also apply to the final round.
