Online Elimination Round
As part of the submission, the participant must record a video of a performance of his/her choice (recording should not be for less than 1 minutes and should not exceed 4 minutes). Please note that this is an elimination round and the top 15 contestants shall qualify for Round 2: Final round, which will be on-campus. Final Campus Round

Rap-Sody is Unmaad’s solo rap event, bringing the raw pulse of Beats of the Streets to the stage. No crews, no covers just your bars, your flow, and your story. Step up, own the mic, and battle it out for exciting prizes and crazy showdown.

Guidelines:
- This is an open-to-all rapping contest. There is a maximum limit of 2 participants per team: 1 rapper + 1 beatboxer (optional)
- The event comprises two rounds: Online elimination and finals (on-campus). The final round includes 2 sub-rounds
- Participants must register on the Unstop registration page latest by 24th February 2026
- Languages : Hindi, English, Kannada
- Penalty, if any, for the use of vulgar language or any obscenity will be left to the discretion of the judges
- The organizers hold the right to change/modify rules on the day of the event
- The decision of the judges will be final and binding
Rules:
Round 1: Online Elimination
- As part of the submission, the participant must record a video of a performance of his/her choice (recording should not be for less than 1 minute and should not exceed 4 minutes).
- Please upload your submission to your Google Drive and share the link in the submissions field. The naming convention should be “<CollegeName/CompanyName/Organization Name/Independent>_<YourName>_Rap-sody”. Please make sure that viewing access to the submission is Public. You can refer to the link here to check how to give viewing access
- Effects, like autotune, transpose, etc., are strictly prohibited
- Participants must submit their video recordings on the Unstop page by 19th February 2026.
- Please note that this is an elimination round and the top 15 contestants shall qualify for Round 2: The final round, which will be on-campus.
- Please note that registration for the event does not guarantee participation on the final day. Shortlists for the final round will be released and emails will be sent to the finalists, along with their theme for sub-round 1 of the final round.
- All general rules relating to the performance also apply to the online elimination round.
Round 2: Final Round (On-Campus)
- Participants who qualify for the preliminary round are mandatorily required to carry their delegate passes (participants will receive delegate passes on his/her email once registration is complete) on the day of the Final round (on-campus). Either a physical copy or a digital copy of the delegate pass shall suffice.
- There will be 2 sub-rounds.
- Sub-round 1 : Rappers shall be communicated a theme/ topic post-qualifying for the final round and each rapper will have to showcase a prepared rap performance. The time limit for the performance is 4 minutes, inclusive of setup time. This will be an elimination round and 6 rappers will move to the sub-round 2.
- Participants can either opt for a beatboxer along with them or can bring their beats/ rhythm for rap. In the latter case, the participant should send the track in MP3 format to rashi.singh25@iimb.ac.in ID with the subject “Rhapsody Final – Unstop Registration Number”.
- Sub-round 2 : This round will have the format of battle rap. Each participant will be informed who their opponent is (the pairings will be allotted randomly), and he/she will be given time to prepare. There will be two rounds where each competitor alternates freestyling for 30 seconds to 1.5 minutes in each of the two rounds. The lyrics should preferably focus more on humor.
- Slot picking will be done on the day of the event. The participants must be present at the event venue on time for slot picking. Any participant absent shall be allotted a random time slot.
- Two participants may exchange their slots, provided that both of them mutually agree. The organizers must be informed about any slot changes well in advance.
- Judging will be based on:
- Rhythm , Voice quality and clarity , Delivery (word-play, rhetorical devices, sarcasm, puns, double entendres, paronomasia, quips, witticism) ,The overall impact of the performance (involvement with the audience, body language, confidence, etc.)
All general rules relating to the performance also apply to the final round.
