Some voices don’t just sing, they stay with you.

  • Voice of Unmaad at IIM Bangalore is a celebration of pure vocal expression, where one performer, one song, and one moment can captivate an entire audience. Whether your style is soulful, powerful, classical, or contemporary, this stage is built for voices that carry feeling and leave an impact.
  • Stand alone under the lights. Let your melody do the rest.
  • Get ready to register and make your melody unforgettable! 

Guidelines: 

  • This solo singing event is open to both students and working professionals.
  • Contest comprises two rounds: Online Elimination and Campus Finals.
  • Both Western and Eastern music are permitted. Both will be judged separately for the two rounds and will have a winner for each. A participant can choose to register for both the western and eastern streams.
  • Participants must register on the Unstop registration page by 12th February 2026.
  • Participants may choose to either perform on a karaoke track or play their own instrument.
  • A ‘Shruthi box’ (electronic tanpura) may be used by the participant and this will not be considered an accompanying instrument.
  • If the keyboard is chosen as the accompanying instrument, it can only be played in piano mode.
  • The accompanying instrument will not be taken into consideration for judging purposes.
  • The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
  • The organizers hold the right to change/modify rules on the day of the event. 

Rounds: 

Round 1: Online Elimination:

  • As part of the submission, the participant must record a video of a song of his/her choice (the recording should not be for less than 1.5 minutes and should not exceed 4 minutes).
  • Please upload your submission to your Google Drive and share the link in the submissions field. The naming convention should be “<CollegeName/CompanyName/Organization Name/Independent>_<YourName>_<Stream>_Voice of Unmaad”. Your stream can be either Western or Eastern. Please make sure that viewing access to the submission is Public. You can refer to the link here to check how to give viewing access.
  • Participants must submit their video recordings on the Unstop page by 12th February 2026.
  • Please note that this is an elimination round and the top 20 contestants (10 for each category – Western and Eastern music) shall qualify for Round 2: Final round, which will be on-campus.
  • Please note that registration for the event does not guarantee participation on the final day. A shortlist for the final round will be released and emails will be sent to the finalists.
  • All general rules relating to the performance also apply to the preliminary round. 

Round 2: Final round (On-Campus):

  • Participants who qualify for the preliminary round are mandatorily required to carry their delegate passes (participants will receive delegate passes on his/her email once registration is complete) on the day of the Preliminary round (on-campus). Either a physical copy or a digital copy of the delegate pass shall suffice.
  • The time limit for the performance is 6 minutes (including setup time).
  • In case you opt for Karaoke, he/she should send the track in MP3 format to Duppada.kowshik25@iimb.ac.in ID with the subject “Voice of Unmaad– Name”. However, participants are encouraged to keep the usage of backing tracks to a minimum.
  • In case the participant opts to play an instrument, he/she must bring their own instrument.
  • Performance time is at the discretion of the judges i.e. how long the judges require to make a decision on the performance. At least one song is to be presented but the judges might ask for more spontaneous songs from the participant with an upper time limit of 6 minutes (including setup time).
  • Slot picking will be done on the day of the event. The participants must be present at the event venue on time for slot picking. Any participant absent shall be allotted a random time slot.
  • Two participants may exchange their slots, provided that both of them mutually agree. The organizers must be informed about any slot changes well in advance.
  • All general rules relating to the performance also apply to the final round
