Event Overview:
In the age of big data, handling massive datasets efficiently has become a core challenge for industries like e-commerce, finance, healthcare, and logistics. Organizations generate petabytes of data daily, and the ability to process and analyze these datasets rapidly is critical to maintaining a competitive edge. This competition invites participants to demonstrate their technical expertise by tackling the 1-Billion Row Data Challenge, focusing on scalable data engineering, analytics, and optimization techniques.

Structure and Evaluation Criteria:
The Competition has a total of 3 rounds, which will be hosted on Kaggle
- Round 1: The 1-Million Row Starter Challenge
- Round 2: The 1-Billion Row Scaling Challenge
- Round 3: Advanced Analytics on 1-Billion Rows
Rules and Constraints:
- Participants can use any technology stack, including SQL/NoSQL databases, Big Data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, Dask), or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Cloud-based solutions must include a cost breakdown and justify resource allocation
- Open-source libraries and pre-built tools are allowed but must be declared
- Solutions must be able to handle multi-user concurrent queries if required.

About Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University)
- The Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi is situated on the campus of Banaras Hindu University spread over nearly 1300 acres at the southern end of the ancient city of Varanasi on the banks of the holy river Ganga.
- The Banaras Hindu University was established by Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Ji in the year 1916.
- This Banaras Hindu University has teaching and research facilities in over 135 diverse disciplines including ancient history, oriental learning, performing and fine arts, management, science, social sciences, etc.
- Later on, BHU started engineering education by being the first in the country to start degree courses in mining, metallurgy, ceramic engineering and pharmaceutics with the establishment of the College of Mining and Metallurgy and the College of Technology in the year 1923 and 1932 respectively.
- In 1969, the above three colleges were amalgamated to form the Institute of Technology.
- On 29th June 2012, the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU), got converted into Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi by the Government of India, New Delhi.
