All that you need to know about Riverathon 1.0
General Rules:
- All teams must register before the deadline to be eligible.
- Each team must consist of 2 to 4 members.
- Work must be original and developed during the hackathon. Pre-existing codebases are not allowed, unless explicitly permitted (e.g., open-source libraries or APIs).
- Maintain a respectful and inclusive environment. Any form of harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will lead to disqualification.
Code of Conduct:
- Uphold the values of integrity, teamwork, and mutual respect.
- Respect intellectual property rights; ensure all content is your own or properly attributed.
- Plagiarism or use of third-party solutions without attribution is strictly prohibited.
Submission Guidelines:
- Demo/Presentation: A 2–5 minute video or slide deck explaining the problem, approach, and outcomes.
- Documentation including:
- Project overview
- Tools and technologies used
- Setup instructions
- Environmental relevance
Judging Criteria Overview:
- Projects will be evaluated based on:
- Understanding & Relevance
- Alignment with real-world river-related challenges
- Relevance to Namami Gange objectives and SDGs
Innovation & Creativity:
- Originality of the idea
- Creative use of LiDAR, geospatial tools, or environmental technologies
Use of LiDAR / Geospatial Data:
- Effective integration of LiDAR or spatial datasets
- Generation of meaningful, accurate geospatial insights
Technical Feasibility & Execution:
- Practicality of implementation
- Functionality of chosen technology stack
Environmental & Social Impact:
- Contribution to river health, pollution control, biodiversity, or community resilience
- Focus on long-term sustainability
Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Presentation
- Collaboration across environment, policy, and tech
- Clarity, persuasiveness, and professionalism of presentation
Scalability & Replicability
- Adaptability of solution to other regions/river basins
- Ease of replication
Disqualification Criteria:
- Violating rules, guidelines, or the code of conduct
- Unethical conduct such as plagiarism or misrepresentation
- Incomplete or ineligible submissions
