The GrocLake Hackathon is a premier event designed to empower developers to showcase their creativity, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills by building themed Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications and next-generation agentic apps. Using GrocLake’s advanced suite of AI tools, participants will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, receive mentorship from industry experts, and compete for exciting prizes, all while redefining the possibilities of AI innovation.

What Is RAG?

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) combines traditional information retrieval with generative AI, producing smarter, more accurate solutions. By leveraging a knowledge base, RAG retrieves relevant data and uses it to generate precise, context-aware responses. This approach is revolutionizing industries by addressing real-world challenges like customer support, research, education, healthcare, and automation.

What Are Agentic Apps?

Agentic apps go beyond information retrieval by embodying autonomy and functionality to execute specific tasks on behalf of users. These apps integrate voice, text, and contextual inputs to deliver personalized, actionable solutions across various domains, making them powerful tools for addressing user needs in innovative ways.

Using GrocLake’s Unified Library of AI Tools, developers can easily create their own RAG applications or agentic apps and push the boundaries of innovation with user-friendly resources and expert guidance.

Hackathon Overview:

Challenge: Create your own RAG application or agentic app based on a theme of your choice.
While example projects are provided for inspiration, developers are free to choose their own themes to create applications that resonate with their interests and expertise.

Example Projects

1. Catalog Agent
   Create a catalog agent (mimic catalog creator) that generates structured catalogs using unstructured input in local languages through voice/text input in Cataloglake.
   Example: "Create a catalog for this shoe whose image is this URL. This is a Nike shoe whose price is 2399, but I want you to suggest a price."

2. Shopping Planner Agent
   Develop a shopping planner agent (mimic offline retailer sales staff) that plans and creates shopping lists based on customer input in local languages using text/voice.
   Example: "Plan shopping for my friend Manisha whose wedding is in Jan 2025. She lives in Delhi."

3. Patient Knowledge RAG Application
   Build a patient knowledge application for rural India that answers health-related questions in local languages using voice input.
   Example: A patient asks a question in their native language and receives contextually accurate answers about healthcare.

Participants Will Receive:

• Exclusive early access to GrocLake tools.
• Comprehensive guidance and support from the GrocLake team.
• 24/7 mentorship and live sessions to support development.
• Advancing participants in the final round will develop their RAG or agentic apps with a fully functional front end under expert mentorship.

Steps to Participate:

1. Choose a Theme: Select a domain you’re passionate about, such as Healthcare, Education, or E-Commerce, or come up with your own unique theme.
2. Round 1: Submit your idea and development approach using the provided template on [Unstop].
3. Round 2 (Final Round):
   • Build your RAG application or agentic app with GrocLake tools and your custom frontend.
   • Participate in interactive mentorship sessions and leverage GrocLake’s resources.
   • Present your app to judges, detailing your approach, application features, and suggestions for improving GrocLake tools.

Final Submission:

Present your RAG application or agentic app to the judges and submit a short presentation explaining:

• Your development approach.
• Application features and functionality.
• Suggestions for improving GrocLake tools.

Winners will be announced during an online ceremony, where participants will receive:

• Participation certificates for all.
• Exciting cash prizes and exclusive internship opportunities for winners.

Rules and Guidelines:

Eligibility:

• Open to developers worldwide.
• Individuals or teams of up to 5 members are welcome to participate.

Submission Requirements:

Round 1: Submit your idea via the provided template on Unstop.
Round 2: Present your fully developed RAG or agentic app to the judges and submit a concise presentation.

General Rules:

• Use of GrocLake Tools: Applications must use GrocLake tools as the core. External tools may be used for front-end development and integrations.
• Originality: Submissions must be original. Plagiarized or previously submitted work will lead to disqualification.
• Appropriate Themes: Applications must adhere to ethical guidelines. Inappropriate or unethical themes will result in disqualification.
