HackAway – The Ultimate Overnight Hardware + Software Hackathon

• Overview: HackAway is an overnight hackathon designed to test creativity, teamwork, and technical expertise. As a flagship event of RoboSaga’26, it challenges participants to think fast, build smarter, and develop impactful solutions in a competitive yet exciting environment. The hackathon promotes innovation through real-world problem solving and hands-on implementation using hardware + software integration.

HackAway Details:

• Team Size: 2 to 4 members per team
• Mode: Offline (Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi)
• Duration: Overnight Hackathon (23 Jan 2026, 7:00 PM – 24 Jan 2026, 2:00 PM)
• Problem Statement Release: (To be announced / can be released 12 hours prior)

Format:

• Problem statements may include both software + hardware based challenges.
• Teams will select/build solutions and demonstrate a working prototype/demo.
• Final submission must include a clear explanation of:
• Problem Statement
• Proposed Solution
• Required Hardware (if any)
• Software Stack
• Implementation + Demo

Rules:

• Participants must be present at the venue during the hackathon timeline.
• Team members must follow the given team size limits (2–4).
• Plagiarism or copying solutions is strictly prohibited and may lead to disqualification.
• Necessary hardware components will be provided (but participants may bring their own components if needed).
• No accommodation will be provided.
• Necessary arrangements regarding food will be provided to all participants.
• Any kind of misconduct or disruption will lead to immediate disqualification.
